Turoa & Whakapapa are perched on either side of the active volcano, Mt Ruapheu. These two North Island ski resorts make up New Zealand largest ski area. Being relatively close to Auckland and Wellington, this is also the busiest ski area in N.Z, with a combined total of 27 lifts, including N.Z’s highest lift access and longest vertical drop. The rugged scenery of the Central Plateau is unbeatable!
